Opensignal, a leading provider of independent insights into consumers’ connectivity experience, has released a report showcasing key performance areas of Canada’s three major telecom operators.
Rogers Communications maintained its position as Canada’s most reliable network, scoring 916 out of 1000 for reliability experience and 80.5% for consistent quality. The company continued to dominate in upload speeds, maintaining its lead in upload speed experience and 5G upload speed with scores of 12.4 Mbps and 29Mbps over 5G connections.
Additionally, Rogers secured the top spot for video experience, with a 70.8 score out of 100, followed by TELUS with 69.1 points and Bell with 67 points.
Bell stood out as a frontrunner in 5G gaming experience, scoring 85.1 points on a 100-point scale, making it the only Canadian operator in the ‘Excellent’ category.
TELUS surpassed Rogers in 5G availability, with TELUS users connected to 5G networks 14.2% of the time—the highest proportion among carriers.
TELUS matched Bell in overall download speeds, with similar scores of 77.3 to 77.5 Mbps. However, Bell maintained its lead in 5G download speed, with speeds 10% faster than TELUS. Both telecom operators continue to share the top spot for network coverage, particularly in coverage experience and 5G coverage experience.
Opensignal’s report highlights Canada’s evolving mobile network landscape, with major carriers excelling in key quality and performance areas.
