StrataNet puts great effort in putting the right team in place in order to ensure a continued growth of the company and become the Telecom Infrastructure Company of the future. That is why, for its next phase of growth, it has appointed three well-known industry veterans to the senior executive team. The new appointments strongly position StrataNet to execute on the array of opportunities the business has developed over the past 2 years in Asia and beyond.

StrataNet will continue its fiber-optic network expansion. With over 20 terabits of subsea fiber optic cable spanning eight different cable systems, the company will continue to build on their growth in the Asia Pacific region. They will continue to take advantage of their footprint and experience to enhance a range of capital projects and opportunities ahead of the market.

During the first half of 2020, StrataNet will commence its series B capital raise and will also establish a dedicated project finance facility exceeding $250m to progress selected capital projects and strategic asset acquisitions. StrataNet will continue to expand its board in 2020.

StrataNet’s leadership for 2020 and beyond will be as follows:

Chief Commercial Officer & Executive Director – Chris de Josselin

Chris is stepping into the newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer.

In the function, Chris will focus on strategic supply, project, M&A and capital raise initiatives working closely with the incoming CEO on the continual growth of the business.  Chris will remain an active and a key member of the senior management team and will retain his position on the Stratanet Board of Directors.

Chief Executive Officer – Chris Wilson

Chris Wilson is well known in the telecommunications industry and has over thirty years of experience in building and growing telecom and data centre businesses across the Asia Pacific region.

Chris led the ASEAN business of TIME dotCom Bhd, and was responsible for developing and growing its fibre and data centre business outside its home market in Malaysia. In this role he led multiple acquisitions and capital projects, and was responsible for revenues of approximately US$100 million. Previously Chris has worked for British Telecom, MCI, Verizon and Pacnet.

Chairman of the Board – Stephen Scott

Steve has been working as a strategic advisor on a part time basis to Stratanet for the past 18 months and they are now pleased to confirm his appointment to the board of directors in the role of Chair.

Steve has 25 years of experience in telecoms and related industries including; Global Marine Systems, PSiNet Europe, Sentrum Data Centres and Global Switch.

Alongside his role at these organizations, Stephen spent 10 years as COO at Bridgehouse Capital (UK family office) where he gained significant private equity experience and participated in multiple sector M&A activities.  Following this Steve spent two years as CEO running a boutique Investment Bank, Genii Capital.

Most recently he was the CEO of Deep Blue Cable a developer and operator of a new cable system connecting the Caribbean islands and America.

As a well-respected industry executive with proven track record as a board member and chair, Steve is well positioned to steer the business through its next phase of high growth. His efforts will span corporate governance, acquisitions and new ventures along with structuring the necessary debt and equity to underpin Stratanet’s evolution toward becoming an infrastructure developer, owner and operator.

Steve was voted in by the other directors at the board meeting held on 22nd January 2020.
